Accelerated Masters Pathway (AMP)
The Accelerated Master’s Pathway (AMP) allows you to count up to 12 credits of eligible courses towards an undergraduate AND a graduate degree.
IPSS currently accepts students from select undergraduate programs. If you do not see your program on this list, please contact your undergraduate advisors to explore options.
Please note that many IPSS degrees will require more than one additional year to complete research projects.
For more information about the IPSS program, including degrees offered, please see the following pages:

Steps:
Be sure you meet the eligibility criteria outlined on the AMP page. Start this process as early as possible so you can plan your courses appropriately.
- Contact the following people:
- Your academic advisor AND your career and professional development advisor. They may have a form to fill out.
- An IPSS faculty member that you would like to work with. The IPSS program only recommends applicants be admitted if they have identified an advisor who will make a commitment of financial support (tuition, stipend, and research expenses). It is important to discuss this with potential graduate advisors.
- The Director of Graduate Studies for IPSS (Dr. Arther Hunt, Arthur.hunt@uky.edu) to let them know about your interest in the pathway.
- Submit your “intent” via the AMP page.
-
With your undergraduate and graduate advisors, complete a coursework plan that outlines what courses will fulfill your undergraduate requirements and what you will count towards your graduate degree. Note that some graduate courses taken by IPSS students meet in alternate years.
